We thought National Stout Day was the perfect opportunity to announce a new line of dessert-inspired specials releases, the first of which is an amazing bourbon barrel aged “Stroopwafel Stout” set to release later this month! This beer has an amazing fudgy, caramel biscuit-like flavor that evokes the classic Dutch Stroopwafel.
If you aren’t familiar with Stroopwafel, it’s made with a layer of gooey caramel sandwiched between two crispy wafer cookies. Broad enough to perch on top of a coffee mug, these tasty cookies are often enjoyed with a cup of tea. Set one on top after pouring the hot tea and let the steam warm and soften that caramel goodness. And now you know a sweet secret few Americans have enjoyed.
Ryan & Lindsay Sherring have been spreading the Stroopwafel gospel to friends, family, and employees for some time… But it’s finally time to share it with all of our Six Mile Bridge patrons in the form they love best. Beer.
Aged for over 18 months, the base beer was a double mash, four hour boil, creating substantial body and 13% ABV. After that, it went into Four Roses bourbon barrels with 100% real cinnamon until it was finally ready to be bottled!
These 750 ml. bottles will be released on a first-come, first served basis for $20 each which includes tax. In addition to the bottles, we will have a very limited amount available on draft at the Taproom if you want a smaller taste. The release date isn’t finalized quite yet, but it will be very soon so stay tuned to our social media accounts to be the first to know.
